MoGCSP TRAINS SELECTED MARKET EXECUTIVES AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS AS PARALEGALS

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) in collaboration with UNFPA Ghana has organised a Two-day workshop on the ‘Prevention and Management of Domestic Violence’ in Accra on the 4th and 5th July, 2019.

The main objective of the training was to equip selected market executives and other stakeholders including some staff of MoGCSP with the requisite skills to enable them educate and offer support to survivors of Domestic Violence /Sexual and Gender-Base Violence.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, stated that the Ministry together with UNFPA GHANA are planning to set up two Domestic Violence rapid response centres at Agbogbloshie and Madina to address Domestic Violence cases within their catchment areas and therefore the need to train the selected market women within these markets and stakeholders on how to handle such cases.
