MISSING TAKORADI GIRLS ALIVE – GENDER MINISTER

A positive and joyous ending may be beckoning in the downhearted story of the three missing girls reported kidnapped in Takoradi, the Western Regional capital.

Hon. Cynthia Morrison, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, has revealed to the press that the kidnapped girls are still alive. She revealed it to the press when she visited the families of the victims on Sunday 27^th January 2019 in Takoradi.

The Sector Minister had gone to the families of the kidnapped girls on Sunday morning to comfort and assure them of governments’ commitment to doing everything within its power to rescue the missing young ladies.

According to Hon. Cynthia Morrison, the main suspect in the kidnapping of the girls had confessed that they were alive.

“The key suspect, who was initially not giving out information about the whereabouts of the girls, has now been providing good leads” she said.

The minister, who appears relieved that the suspect is now talking, added “I am happy the culprit has started talking; that is what I wanted because I did not believe he will not talk. He has to talk and he is talking. From here I am going to see him. And then talk to him and see where we can get to.”

This revelation will put to rest fears by the general public and that of some family members of the victims that the girls may be already dead.

Before the Minister’s visit, an entourage from the police administration, led by Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, had paid a similar visit to the families of the kidnapped young ladies. She also revealed that there is an imminent collaboration between Ghanaian investigators and their counterparts from the United States of America and the United Kingdom to work on the case.
