The Committee appreciates that the State party submitted its combined sixth and seventh periodic reports, which generally followed the Committee’s guidelines for the preparation of reports, although they lacked references to the Committee’s general recommendations and to some specific sex disaggregated data. The Committee also appreciates the State party’s written replies to the list of issues and questions raised by its pre-sessional working group. It welcomes the oral presentation of the delegation and the further clarifications provided in response to the questions posed orally by the Committee during the dialogue.

3. The Committee commends the State party for its high-level delegation, headed by Her Excellency Ms. Nana Oye Lithur, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection. The delegation also included three Members of Parliament, a Deputy Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), and officials from government agencies responsible for health, food, agriculture, education, foreign affairs, local government as well as representatives from civil society and the media.
